Whoa Buddy, Catch Up (Part II)

December, oh man, this was a busy one!! SpecialManFriend was traveling a lot during the first couple weeks, so Murph-Dog and I were pretty much on our own to do some Christmas shopping and lots of holiday baking.

The day after SMF got home from one of his trips, we got on the Clipper to Victoria, BC to visit one of my best friends, Anna, and her fiancé, Jamie. While there, SMF wanted to see Butchart Gardens all lit up for the holidays. If you have never done this, I highly recommend it. It has millions of lights strung over everything, an ice skating rink, a carousel and carolers. So fun!

As we walked along, we were on a dark path where all I could see ahead was an arbor covered in lights and then darkness again. We reached the arbor and SMF stopped—and this is where my memory gets a little blurry and crazy. He started saying all these nice things about how he loved me, and some others that I couldn’t hear over my heart pounding like a bass drum. After what seemed like a million years and a split second at the same time, he got down on ONE KNEE and asked me to marry him!!! Ummm, yes please!!! I really couldn’t tell you what happened next except we found an older couple down the path that didn’t know how to use our new-fangled camera and took a blurry photo of us as I tried to catch my breath from crying so hard.

SMF and I have been on some great trips together, but needless to say, this was the best!

We were able to celebrate with my family as soon as we were back in Seattle, and a couple weeks later, flew to Minnesota to spend Christmas with Mark’s family. What a special time to share with them!

All in all, to say December was amazing is an understatement. I am beyond excited to be marring my best friend this summer, he is honestly the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Stay tuned to see wedding planning photos and updates!

Whoa Buddy, Catch Up!

My goodness, you would have thought I died or something! Here I am 9 months later to catch y'all back up on our lives. I apologize for being gone so long, but I am not going to waste time giving you reasons it happened, I just want to get back to blogging!!

Lets start with Fall 2010

What a great couple months! To start, my sister married her longtime sweet, Toby, and it was PHE-NOM-E-NAL!!!

I want to start with the bachelorette party, which I headed up as the Maid of Honor-- feast your eyes on this pack of lovely ladies...

We started in a room at the W Hotel, hit up Seattle's finest adult beverage venues, chowed on some late night Dick's burgers and shakes, and ended up right where we started, The W. What a great night.

Hundreds of hours of love and planning were put into the actual wedding and every last second of it showed…. I will share a little to get you started, more about the day after some photo love…

This really was the most beautiful fall wedding complete with dahlias, burlap and the glow of candlelight.  The party went well into the night and the sweets bar kept sugar levels high and smiles wide for the photo booth.
November always brings a lot of activity to our house. Along with the obvious Thanksgiving start of the Christmas season, SMF (Mark) and I both celebrate our birthdays.

Hook ‘em Horns! SMF and I were lucky this year to combo my birthday weekend with a really fun/relaxed work trip to Austin, TX (my favorite city in the US for those of you keeping track). Another HUGE bonus is that my best friend and her family were also there for the UT football game and we spent the entire weekend together.  Here are some fun things to look at…

SMF’s birthday fell the day after Thanksgiving this year and we celebrated with a Lawson tradition to the Christmas Tree Lighting at Westlake Center and a trip to the Crab Pot to wack some seafood and my first cheesecake I have ever made (I forgot to take a photo before we ate it)--More fun things to look at…

So that is it for Fall 2010. Check back later and I will fill you in on Winter...this is where the story gets GOOD!
